The world’s rarest duck known as Madagascar Pochard which once thought to be extinct can actually be seen here in Bemanevika Reserve which is a wetland area composed of permanent and intermittent freshwater lakes, rivers, streams, permanent and seasonal streams, marshes, permanent freshwater ponds. A matrix of dense rainforests with altitude, characteristic of the area, ensures connectivity between different wetland ecosystems.
